Since its organization in 1845 in Augusta, Georgia, the Southern Baptist Convention (SBC) has grown to over 16 million members who worship in more than 42,000 churches in the United States. Southern Baptists sponsor about 5,000 home missionaries serving the United States, Canada, Guam and the Caribbean, as well as sponsoring more than 5,000 foreign missionaries in 153 nations of the world.
North American Mission Board
The North American Mission Board is the domestic missions agency of the Southern Baptist Convention and assists Southern Baptists in their task of fulfilling the Great Commission in the United States, Canada and their territories through a North American strategy for sharing Christ, starting churches and sending missionaries, in cooperation with Acts 1:8 Partners.
International Mission Board
The International Mission Board is an entity of the Southern Baptist Convention whose mission is to make disciples of all peoples in fulfillment of the Great Commission. Almost 5,000 people groups - 1.6 billion people - still live with little or no access to the Gospel.
State Convention of Baptists in Ohio
The SCBO purpose is to provide a means for the autonomous Southern Baptist Churches throughout Ohio to work together promoting all endeavors they deem necessary to carry out Christ's Great Commission.
